This classification level performs clerical work under immediate supervision in a county court under the supervision of a clerk magistrate, a clerk of court, or a division manager. Responsibilities may include: performing clerical functions in the civil/small claims division by responding to routine inquiries; verifying files/information for missing details, accuracy, and distributing to appropriate staff for correction; preparing and processing motions; compiling and maintaining records by sorting, filing, scanning files and related documents; performing data entry, receiving fees/fines and other payments, and performing other performs general office duties.

Schedule:
Two schedule options are available
7:30 - 4:30 with 1 hour lunch.
8:00 - 4:30 with 30 minute lunch.

Salary:
A Records Clerk/Cashier‘s salary range is $34,700.28 - $42,278.83.
After probation period is completed, the Permanent wage will increase at least 2.5%. Pay rate may be commensurate with education and/or experience within fiscal constraints, if approved.

Job Duties
1. Provides customer service to internal and external customers, which includes answering phones and greeting walk-in visitors, responding to requests for information from staff and/or the general public; answering routine questions.
2. Performs clerical tasks, which includes collecting fees, fines and other payments; receiving, processing, sorting, filing, and/or distributing a variety of correspondence, materials, billings, payments, deliveries, mail, and/drop paperwork and other applicable documents.
3. Enters information into applicable court databases and/or other computerized systems to collect and maintain court records and information in assigned area of responsibility and process court motions.
4. Prepares, records, and/or maintains information, to include verifying files and information for accuracy and ensuring appropriate corrections.
5. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Requirements/Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.); or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

All educational credits must be granted from an accredited institution approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education.

Knowledge Requirements:

Positions in this class work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required, not to exceed 20 LBS
