Problem-Solving Courts

Nebraska Problem-Solving Courts operate under a multidisciplinary team approach where a judge, prosecutor, defense counsel, coordinator, community supervision officer, law enforcement representative, treatment provider, and other designated community members all work together with the participant to protect public safety and increase the likelihood of successful rehabilitation.

Problem-Solving Courts are designed to serve high-risk, high need individuals across the state in all 12 judicial districts.

When applicable, Nebraska Problem-Solving Court adhere to Nebraska's Best Practice Standards and new courts can only be established with the approval of the Nebraska Supreme Court. All Problem-Solving Courts are governed by the Nebraska Supreme Court Committee on Problem-Solving Courts under the direction of the Nebraska Supreme Court. Members include representatives of courts, probation, law enforcement and the legal community along with judges, prosecutors and defense attorneys.
