Proceedings Below: Appellant pled to second-degree murder and to use of a firearm to commit a felony. The district court sentenced him to fifty (50) years to life in prison for second-degree murder and a consecutive sentence of forty-eight (48) to fifty (50) years in prison for use of a firearm to commit a felony. Life imprisonment cases are direct appeals to the Nebraska Supreme Court.
Issues: Appellant assigns the following errors: 1) The lower court abused its discretion by imposing excessive sentences; and 2) The lower court abused its discretion by failing to grant Appellant’s motion to withdraw his plea.
