Proceedings Below: Appellant was convicted of second-degree murder, use of a deadly weapon (firearm) to commit a felony, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited individual.  He was sentenced to consecutive terms of seventy (70) years to life in prison, twenty (20) to thirty (30) years in prison, and five (5) to ten (10) years in prison.  Appellant filed for post-conviction relief, which the district court denied without an evidentiary hearing.  Life imprisonment cases are direct appeals to the Nebraska Supreme Court.    

Issues: Appellant assigns the following errors: 1) The district court erred in denying Appellant appointment of counsel; 2) The district court erred in denying Appellant an evidentiary hearing; and 3) The district court erred in denying Appellant post-conviction relief.
