Criminal: Life imprisonment for first-degree sexual assault on a child
Proceedings below: Appellant was convicted of two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child and two counts of third-degree sexual assault on a child. The district court gave him consecutive sentences of sixty (60) years to life in prison for each first-degree sexual assault of a child conviction and consecutive sentences of two (2) to three (3) years in prison for each third-degree sexual assault of a child conviction. Life imprisonment cases are direct appeals to the Nebraska Supreme Court.
