Probation Education Director Helps Shape Future of National Corrections Training Network
Probation Education Director Jerid Wedige recently attended the Training Administrators Network (TAN) Symposium in Aurora, Colorado, where correctional training professionals from across the country gathered to share ideas, discuss emerging trends, and collaborate on improving training programs within the corrections field.
TAN serves as a professional network for training directors and administrators representing local, state, and federal adult and juvenile corrections agencies. Participants include professionals from probation, parole, juvenile services, jails, prisons, and other community-based correctional programs from across the country. Through collaboration and the sharing of best practices, TAN works to enhance training methods and strengthen professional development opportunities for corrections staff nationwide.
After several years of inactivity, TAN began a relaunch in mid-2025. The revitalized organization has resumed regular engagement through monthly Academy Chat virtual lunch-and-learn sessions and the return of the annual TAN Symposium. The renewed focus aims to strengthen connections among training professionals and promote innovation in correctional education and workforce development.
During the symposium, Mr. Wedige was invited to join the TAN Guiding Group, a select team of training leaders tasked with helping shape the organization's future direction. As a member of the Guiding Group, he will assist in developing TAN's strategic vision, expanding professional networking opportunities, and planning future symposiums and educational initiatives.
Mr. Wedige's selection reflects his commitment to excellence in community corrections education and recognizes the valuable contributions being made within Nebraska Probation. His involvement will provide an opportunity to bring innovative ideas and national best practices back to our organization while helping influence the future of training and professional development across the corrections community.
