Nebraska Probation, Problem-Solving (PSC) and Young Adult Court (YAC) officers (photo above: left to right) Michelle Shultheis (District 9), Sarah Acri (District 4A), Kayla Curry (4A), Angela Smith (District 9 PSC Coordinator) and Keirna  Ostwald (District 4A YAC) participated in a panel highlighting Nebraska’s Emerging Adult Pilot projects progress around implementation of the developmental framework developed for working with emerging adults by Columbia University in partnership with the Annie E. Casey Foundation. 

Additionally, District 9 Specialized Populations Officer Angie McQuinn and District 9 Chief Probation Officer Marc Kohmetscher (photo right) presented on Leading Individuals to the Next Chapter–Integrative Training (LINC-IT). This integrative cognitive group approach helps young adults develop essential life skills as they transition into adulthood. LINC-IT was created by District 9 Reporting Center Coordinator Emily Melcher, in collaboration with District 9 staff, the Emerging Adult Leadership Group, and national stakeholders.

Stakeholders from New York, Massachusetts, California, Washington D.C., Minnesota, and Nebraska gathered in Omaha for the third convening of the Adult Justice Innovation Sites.
