Lancaster County Veterans Treatment Court Graduation
On October 29, 2025, the Lancaster County Veterans Treatment Court celebrated the graduation of two participants at the Lancaster County City Council Chambers in Lincoln. The ceremony marked the successful completion of an intensive program that includes comprehensive mental health treatment, close community supervision, and full accountability. Judge Kevin McManaman presided over the event.
Veterans Treatment Courts provide an alternate route through the criminal justice system for nonviolent, drug-related offenders. They utilize a specialized team approach that operates within the existing court structure. These courts are designed to reduce recidivism and substance use among individuals with substance use disorders. Their goal is to protect public safety and promote successful rehabilitation by employing validated risk and need assessments, early and individualized behavioral health treatment, frequent and random chemical testing, incentives, sanctions, and other rehabilitative and supportive services.
