On September 8th, 2026, the Lancaster County Adult Drug Court partnered with the City of Lincoln Health Department to participate in a grant-funded city improvement fundraiser. Drug Court participants and staff cleaned up microtrash at Holmes Lake Park in Lincoln. Microtrash consists of small pieces of discarded debris that are easy to overlook but pose a significant threat to wildlife and drinking water quality.

During the cleanup, volunteers collected and properly disposed of over 129 pounds of microtrash and diverted an additional 20 pounds of recyclable materials from the landfill. Funds generated from this grant-supported event will be directed to the Lincoln Community Foundation (LCF), which distributes financial assistance to current Drug Court clients. Both a former Drug Court graduate and the LCF review support requests, prioritizing essential needs, employment-related expenses, and, most recently, the purchase of an e-bike for a participant with a nervous system disease.
