Nearly ten years ago, the Juvenile Probation Services Division and the Nebraska Court Improvement Project implemented the Home-Based Initiative which expanded two evidence-based services.  These services were specifically targeted toward youth in the justice system to prevent being placed out of home or assist youth to successfully reintegrate to their home after placement. The two services that were added to the array are Boys Town In-Home Family Services (IHFS) and Multisystemic Therapy (MST). 

Katie McLeese Stephenson was recognized with the Whatever it Takes award from MST for her work as the Juvenile Program Specialist overseeing the Home-Based Initiative. Three individuals nominated Katie for the award including two providers from Nebraska and an MST Expert.  Her nomination states, “One of Katie’s greatest strengths is her accessibility and responsiveness. She never hesitates to pick up the phone, discuss barriers as they arise, and work collaboratively toward solutions. Her partnership, advocacy, and commitment to MST are deep and valued. Katie is a true champion for the model, and we are incredibly fortunate to have her as a partner.”
