On July 10, 2026, the Northeast Nebraska Adult Drug Court celebrated the graduation of four participants during a ceremony at the Madison County Courthouse, with the Honorable Ryan Stover presiding. The event recognized the graduates' successful completion of an intensive and highly structured program centered on recovery, accountability, and lasting positive change. The ceremony also marked Judge Stover's first Drug Court graduation since assuming his role as the district's Problem-Solving Court judge.

Family members, friends, Drug Court team members, and community supporters gathered to celebrate this important milestone and recognize the graduates' dedication and perseverance throughout the program. Graduation from Drug Court represents the successful completion of a rigorous process that combines comprehensive behavioral health treatment, intensive community supervision, and a strong commitment to personal responsibility.

Drug Courts, also known as Problem-Solving Courts, provide an alternative to traditional criminal justice proceedings for eligible individuals with substance use disorders. Through a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach, these courts address the underlying factors that contribute to criminal behavior by integrating evidence-based treatment, judicial oversight, and community support.

The primary goals of Drug Courts are to reduce recidivism, enhance public safety, and promote long-term recovery. Participants engage in evidence-based practices that include validated risk and needs assessments, individualized treatment plans, frequent and random drug testing, regular court appearances, and a structured system of incentives and sanctions. Throughout the program, participants also receive access to a wide range of rehabilitative services and community resources that support lasting recovery and help them build healthy, stable, and productive lives.
