Douglas County Celebrates Problem-Solving Court Month with a Recovery Walk
In celebration of Problem-Solving Court Month, the Douglas County Veterans Treatment Court, Young Adult Court, and Adult Drug Court hosted a Recovery Walk on May 2, 2026, at Memorial Park.
The event brought together problem-solving court participants, service providers, members of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, and the local community in support of recovery and rehabilitation. Judge James Masteller of the Young Adult Court and Judge Lux of the Douglas County Veterans Treatment Court served as guest speakers, sharing remarks before graduates from each respective problem-solving court spoke about their experiences and successes in the program.
The event also included a one-mile walk, prize drawings, refreshments, donuts, and free Recovery Walk bracelets for attendees.
The Recovery Walk was well attended and made possible through the efforts of volunteers from the Douglas County problem-solving courts. Organizers hope to make the event an annual tradition to continue raising awareness and support for problem-solving courts and recovery efforts in the community.
