During the July 29, 2026, annual summer meetings of the Conference of Chief Justices (CCJ) and the Conference of State Court Administrators (COSCA) in Rapid City, South Dakota, Nebraska Supreme Court Chief Justice Jeffrey J. Funke was appointed to the CCJ Board of Directors. His three‑year term began immediately following the conclusion of the conference.

Reflecting on the appointment, Chief Justice Funke said, “I am honored to be chosen as a member of the board of directors of the Conference of Chief Justices. CCJ brings together Chief Justices from across the country to work collaboratively to enhance the effectiveness of state courts and the administration of justice.”
