Cass County Adult Drug Treatment Court Celebrates Graduation
The Cass County Adult Treatment Drug Court celebrated the graduation of a participant at the Cass County Courthouse in Plattsmouth, on January 20, 2026, with the Honorable Judge Michael A. Smith presiding. Richard Fedde of the Cass County Attorney’s Office and Angela Minahan of the Cass County Public Defender’s Office were also in attendance.
The ceremony recognized the graduate’s successful completion of a rigorous program that integrates comprehensive substance use treatment, close community supervision, and personal accountability. Nebraska’s Problem-Solving Courts employ a collaborative, team-based approach that brings together judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, coordinators, community supervision officers, law enforcement, and treatment providers to develop individualized plans that support recovery and reduce recidivism.
The Cass County Adult Drug Court requires a minimum of 18 months of intensive participation. Throughout the program, participants gain the tools and support necessary to build stable, drug-free lives. Upon successful completion, graduates have their charges dismissed, marking a meaningful new beginning.
