Nakita Reckinger Chosen to Lead County Court in Nebraska City
Nakita Reckinger, who previously worked as the County Courtroom Clerk in Cass County, has been selected to serve as Otoe County Court Clerk Magistrate in Nebraska City. Her official work as Clerk Magistrate begins August 24, 2026.
“Nakita’s knowledge of courtroom procedures, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively with court stakeholders will help her excel in her new position as Clerk Magistrate,” according to Trial Court Services Director Sara Fowler.
County court clerk magistrates work under the general direction of the presiding county judge supervising, assigning, and directing the work of all staff within the county court. The position carries a high level of responsibility for the people, paperwork, finances, and records of the court. Reckinger will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency of the court’s administrative functions and for investigating and evaluating potential procedural changes.
Reckinger will work in the 2nd Judicial District with fellow clerk magistrates Konia Fries of Plattsmouth, and Dana Ritchheart of Papillion. Judges James Buchanan, Todd Hutton, S. Colin Palm, and David Partsch preside over the courts and direct magistrates in the 2nd District. The Judicial District includes Cass, Otoe, and Sarpy counties.
Reckinger replaces former Clerk Magistrate Dana Ritchheart who has been appointed as the new Sarpy County Court Judicial Administrator.
