Dana Ritchheart Chosen to Lead County Court in Papillion

On August 1, 2026, Dana Ritchheart will be appointed as the new Sarpy County Court Judicial Administrator.

Judicial Administrators work under the general direction of the presiding county judge and the State Court Administrator supervising, assigning, and directing the work of all staff within the county court. The position carries a high level of responsibility for ensuring the efficiency of the county court’s administrative functions, which include case and financial management, resource allocation, policy implementation, and staff supervision.

“Dana's experience as Clerk Magistrate in Otoe County has equipped her with the leadership, knowledge, and administrative expertise needed to succeed as Judicial Administrator in Sarpy County. Her strong understanding of court operations and commitment to public service will serve her well as she takes on this new role,” according to Trial Court Services Director Sara Fowler.

Ritchheart replaces former Sarpy County Judicial Administrator Barb Pousson, who will retire on July 31, 2026, after 25 years of service to the court system.
