Court of Appeals Judge Frankie Moore to Retire June 30, 2026
Judge of the Court of Appeals, Sixth Appellate Judicial District, Frankie J. Moore, has announced her retirement, effective June 30, 2026.
In her letter to the governor, Moore wrote “It has been my privilege and honor to serve as a judge on the appellate court for the past 26 years.”
She continued in her letter, “…I can say without reservation that we have a very strong, professional judiciary in Nebraska, as well as dedicated public servants in the courts and around the state. I am most respectful of the work of our trial judges who adjudicate difficult disputes on a daily basis. In addition, our Supreme Court, Administrative Office of Courts and Probation, Appellate Clerks Office, and all the staff that support our appellate and trial courts are dedicated to providing prompt and fair access to justice for all Nebraskans.”
Judge Moore served as Chief Judge of Court of Appeals from 2014-2020 and was president of the Council of Chief Judges of the State Courts of Appeal from 2024-2025. Additionally, she served many judicial committees for the Supreme Court, as well as previously serving as a co-coordinator and judge for mock trial teams. In 2015, she was recognized as a Distinguished Judge for Service to the Community.
Prior to joining the Court of Appeals, she served as a Judge of the Nebraska Commission of Industrial Relations from 1989-2000, and in private practice in North Platte from 1983-2000.
