Merrick County Clerk Magistrate Maria “Mary” Rodriguez recently submitted her notice of retirement, effective August 5, 2026, after just over five years of service to the Judicial Branch. 

“Mary has been an exceptional Clerk Magistrate. She has served the citizens of Merrick County and the Fifth Judicial District with kindness and respect. Her leadership, communication skills, and professionalism will be greatly missed. I wish her a happy and healthy retirement,” noted County Court Judge Stephen Twiss.

Immediately prior to Rodriguez's retirement, an interim clerk magistrate will be designated for the court.
