After graduating high school from Dundy County High School, I received my Bachelor's of Arts from UNL in 2003 and then graduated from Creighton University School of Law in 2006. I began my law career with a firm in Gering, NE in September 2006 and in 2015 I began practicing as a solo practitioner. I have been certified as a GAL since 2008 (when certification became required) and my practice consists of about 90% juvenile defense and removal cases, and criminal defense work, sprinkled with some custody and small probate/estate cases. I hold two GAL contracts and two public defender contracts in the 12th Judicial District (Panhandle of Nebraska). I practice in all 12 counties in the district, so there is some windshield time as well as a lot of Zoom appearances. I am part of the Children's Justice Attorney Education Program as well as the Supreme Court Commission on Children in the Courts. I am very passionate about juvenile law and have shared some of my experience with my husband, who is also an attorney, but who practices in nearly opposite fields as me, but which at times cross each other. And, when I'm not lawyering, I am very busy chasing my sons, Jacoby and Declan, around for their various activities - football, baseball, basketball, track, show choir, math counts, academic awards, and all the practices in between, as well as toting along their 3 year old brother, Kort.
